1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Onyi platform ("Service"), you — the church organisation registering an account ("Tenant") — agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the Tenant and ONYI, the developer and operator of Onyi.

2. Account Registration & Onboarding

2.1 Church Account

Each organisation registers a separate church account (tenant). You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your administrator login credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities conducted under your account

2.2 Subdomains & Church Slugs

Upon registration, each church is assigned a unique URL slug (e.g., onyi.name.ng/your-church). Slugs are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be transferred between accounts.

3. Free Trial

New tenants may access a 14-day free trial upon registration. During the trial period:

  • All platform features are available without restriction
  • No payment information is required to start the trial
  • At the end of the trial period, access will be restricted unless a subscription plan is activated
  • Data created during the trial is preserved for 30 days after expiry, after which it may be purged

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

4.1 Plan Tiers

Onyi offers multiple subscription tiers (Starter, Growth, Enterprise) with varying member limits, branch counts, and feature access. Plan details and pricing are displayed on the billing page within the admin dashboard.

4.2 Billing Cycles

Subscriptions are available on monthly or annual billing cycles. Annual plans are offered at a discounted rate.

4.3 Payment

Payments are processed via Paystack or Flutterwave. By initiating a payment, you authorise the applicable gateway to charge your nominated payment method for the selected plan amount.

4.4 Renewals & Cancellations

  • Subscriptions with auto-renew enabled will be automatically billed at the start of each billing cycle
  • You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from the billing section of the admin dashboard
  • No refunds are issued for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law
  • Upon cancellation, the account will remain active until the end of the paid period

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Onyi platform to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) to members via SMS, email, or push notifications
  • Collect, store, or process data of individuals without their informed consent
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the platform
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Impersonate another church or organisation
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt the service
  • Share administrator credentials or allow unauthorised access to your account

6. Account Suspension & Termination

6.1 By Onyi

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account, with or without notice, if we determine the account is in violation of these Terms, posing a risk to the platform, or engaging in fraudulent activity.

6.2 By the Tenant

Tenants may close their account at any time by contacting support. Upon closure, all associated data will be scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period.

7. Intellectual Property

The Onyi platform, its codebase, branding, and all associated materials are the exclusive intellectual property of ONYI. No rights are granted to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

Data uploaded by tenants (member profiles, donation records, etc.) remains the intellectual property of the respective church organisation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ONYI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability in any month shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by the Tenant in that month.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Lagos, Nigeria.
